Babble about Doctor Who )

We are waiting for Kurt's friend to pick him up so we can go get dinner, and then I can go to Mal's for a margarita partay! Whooo! It was supposed to be a pool partay, but OF COURSE the hot, sticky weather we've had all week had to turn into cool, sticky weather with rain. BOOOOOOOOOO. At least the margaritas will still be tasty.

In conclusion: Someone called work today and asked about "Coast Guard Training Lessons". Um, what the HELL were you thinking? Seriously.

I think I accidentally spoiled myself for BSG, and the sad thing is, I don't really care. Oh BSG. Where have your days of awesomeness gone?

I really don't want to continue write my 19th Century Women Novelists Paper. I've reached the word limit already, and I still need to finish talking about Wuthering Heights and START talking about Jane Eyre. And, you know, write an introduction and conclusion. And make it not suck. I hate that I started it 3 DAYS AGO, and I'm STILL not done writing it. It's very frustrating, and I'm starting to panic because I need to finish it and also The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner, which, PS, is insane. I'd much rather bounce around in the sunshine with a goofy grin on my face, but alas, that is not an option.

Why 'Heroes' Wins: )

In other news, I have realized that I need to read both Frankenstein and The Secret Garden for the beginning of next week, and I'm going to be in London this weekend. ::sigh:: I guess this means I'll have to do actual work tomorrow.

For Meera: One place from a Jane Austen Novel )

For Kirstin: My room )

Exciting Adventures on Friday: my Shakespeare class went to Stratford! We took a brief tour of the town, seeing exciting things such as the basement of Shakespeare's house, the chapel he probably went to if he was too lazy to walk to church, and his daughter's husband's house! This was unfortunately the least exciting part of the day, as it SNOWED. The ENTIRE TIME WE WERE OUTSIDE. I seriously thought I was going to get frostbite and have all my toes fall off. It was very WOE.

However, we then got a backstage tour of two of the theaters (which were back-to-back) which was pretty cool, even though those weren't the theaters we where were seeing a play. Then we ate dinner at a fish and chips place, which was delicious, and went to the Other Place Theater (PS, best name ever) to see Henry VI, Part 1, which was full of AWESOME. For costuming, they went for this vaguely-period look crossed with long swooping coats (always a good choice), and for staging, they evidently felt like Shakespeare wasn't vertical enough, so they had lots of climbing on ladders and swinging down from the ceiling. It was really cool. The acting was superb. Overall, the production was quite awesome, although you can really tell 1HVI was one of Shakespeare's early plays (and hence not as good as some of his other stuff). When someone recited the line about the "bad, revolting stars" I snickered and thought of Sandman.

In conclusion: it rocked on toast.

Anyways, I finally gave up and downloaded Heroes and SPooN. Babble about Heroes... )

... and SPooN )

Speaking of SPooN, what is more awesome than SPooN or the Weekly World News? SPooN AND the Weekly World News! This is totally the MOST AWESOME THING EVER. Don't read too closely if you don't want to be possibly spoiled for this week's episode though. I CANNOT WAIT. WWN/SPooN OTP4EVAOMG!!!!!1!3.14159265!!cos(0)!

In conclusion: The Chicken That Is Not a Chicken. Oh, Terry Goodkind. Sometimes you were actually kind of good, sometimes you suck, sometimes you are on crack, and sometimes, you are hilarious. I remember reading this on the bus on the way to school and almost dying from repressed laughter. Good times.
