shadydaveApparently, this episode is called "Torn", which is unfortunate as it just makes me think of the Natalie Imbruglia song. Also, there wasn't very much tearing going on.
So, Sharon's new call sign -- Athena -- is totally a callback to the original series. However, what's really interesting is that Athena was Adama's daughter and Apollo's sister. Sharon seems to be creeping into the Adama-surrogate-daughter position that used to be Starbuck's. (Not that I think Adama is going to ignore her or anything; there might be some surrogate-sibling rivalry though). I would particularly like to see how this plays out with Apollo, since 1) Sharon has always made him go off into extreme fits of Adama!Rage!, and 2) apparently he wants to kill all the Cylons next week. Which does not surprise me, since basically the only Cylons he's come into contact with are Boomer (who shot his dad) and countless centurions and raiders (who tried to shoot him). Aside from Sharon, who is a defector that he doesn't really trust, he's never really seen Cylons acting like people, and combined with the whole "will hold grudge forever" thing he has, it makes sense that he wouldn't have too many compunctions about wiping them out.
On a related note, where is Boomer? I want stuff about Boomer. Doesn't she have any thoughts on this whole "enslaving the humans" plan aside from being glad that the Chief is happy? She could at least go hang out with Baltar or something.
I loved how the Sharon model just likes to hang around basestars naked. Heh. Nice reference to season 1.
Poor Tigh :( I hope he does not die in an alcohol-induced coma.
Also, now that I know she's not evil, Kacey is really adorable. Awwwwwww.
In conclusion, I don't think Baltar is a Cylon, but it wouldn't surprise me if one of the mysterious 5 who-shall-not-be-mentioned-ever-unless-of-course-it's-sweeps-week decided to have fun experimenting with his head. Why, of course, is anyone's guess.
