ETA: I also love the extreme paranoia of "20 internet acronyms all parents should know". My favorite is NIFOC, because my first thought was "Dude, you wouldn't have to read your teenager's IM conversations to figure that one out!"

I think the point of warning for NIFOC is if you see the *other* person typing it in a chat with your child. Although it's also totally bizarre, because when I'm checking my email in dishabille, I don't usually advertise that fact.

Um. I think half of those acronyms are made up. My favorite is NALOPKT, because, um. WTF? (As it were.) Also, dude. Acronyming stuff like "get your pants off" (GYPO) would take all of the fun out of any situation in which that would be used.
