Alas, I have not yet read the Iliad, so I cannot comment on Achilles. However, I feel that Cuchulainn (especially in The Tain) would totally give both Achilles and Beowulf a run for their money, as he is also hardcore and awesome. They should start a justice league for epic heroes!
As for Beowulf vs. Achilles, it would all depend on how long Beowulf's armor could hold out against Achilles' weapons, because if he could get into a wrestling match he'd have a good chance at winning, since Achilles probably isn't invulnerable against being choked to death, which Beowulf could totally do.
