AMERICAN TORCHWOOD

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Huge news for sci-fi fans: Fox is developing a stateside version of the U.K. hit series “Torchwood.”

A non-heteronormative sci-fi series on Fox? Wow, this is destined for success!

The project is from BBC Worldwide Prods., with original series creator Russell Davies writing the script.

And so is this!

“Torchwood” is about a covert group that investigates and fights alien activity.

COVERT. ADORABLE.

And I know the previews for "Torchwood" can look silly. Trust me, it's terrific. Like "24" with aliens

But isn't Jack Bauer actually competent?

Unlike U.S. adaptations that have gone awry, “Torchwood” fans can take comfort that the original producing team is on board.

...comfort?

Also, some of the current cast — most likely John Barrowman, who plays the immortal Capt. Jack Harkness — might star if Fox orders “Torchwood” to pilot.

Ok, that might be a LITTLE awesome.

As for the new show’s plot, the U.S. version will contain a global story line compared to the more localized sensibility of the first two BBC seasons.

More... epic, perhaps?

In conclusion: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Unless, of course, they manage to fundamentally misunderstand Torchwood's message. Your guess is as good as mine as to whether this will improve it or make it even worse.

I shudder at the thought of what could make things worse re: Torchwood, but given that we're talking about FOX, the results could be terrifying. Who knows how many more disturbing and/or failtastic themes they could uncover?
