According to Livejournal, I last updated a week ago. I suspect this may be full of LIES.
Anyways, since then I have celebrated Thanksgiving with the clan, flown out to MT to visit Katherine, went soaking in a hot spring, almost fell off the side of a mountain, went to W-burg, hung out with awesome people, saw the Holiday Concert and Grand Illuminations, kicked ass and took names at Scrabble, applied for the position of Secretary to the Athletic Director, interviewed for the position of Secretary to the Athletic Director, and got the position of Secretary to the Athletic Director.
Sadly, my new job does not entail much of a pay raise (it's entirely possible I'll technically be making less money o.O) but it DOES give me UDSD's shiny shiny benefits, which is quite excellent! Plus I get paid holidays and vacation time! Also, the Athletic office is open from 8 to 4 which means MAYBE I'LL GET ENOUGH SLEEP NOW YAY.
I also finally finished typing up my stuff from NaNo, and I am pleased to announce that I wrote almost 12,000 words! Not this was anywhere near the goal of NaNo, but oh well. Those of you who picked option D the other week get a cookie! Take THAT, all ye of little faith who thought I would write less than 10,000 words (I'm looking at YOU, min yfile sweoster). I still have a couple scenes to write/finish so it actually makes sense, but I hope to post it soon.
On a sadder note, my aunt passed away last night. She fought a long battle with cancer three years longer than doctors predicted, and despite a scare a few months ago managed to make it to Thanksgiving where most of our family usually shows up. All her children and siblings as well as a lot of the family (mine included) were able to come see her on Monday and say goodbye, when things took a turn for the worst. The funeral is this weekend, so I'd appreciate any thoughts and prayers you'd like to send our way.
